Leatherman Tool Sales – Leatherman Saves The Day (Again)

I've carried a Leatherman since 1988 when I was stationed in the Army and visiting the fine countryside of West Germany. I found that the Original could fit nicely in my .45 ammo pouch and it saw a lot more use than an extra clip of rounds for my pistol ever could. The big thing then was using the wire strippers for the commo wire we used for our field phones and claymores. Of course, it could slice open an MRE pouch with ease, too. I was a walking, talking billboard for this "fancy, new tool". It seemed everyone was borrowing it while we were in the field. Hell, I even used it to chip off a piece of that famous wall in Berlin for a souvenir.

Fast forward a few decades to a 2010 Chicago suburban winter and a cold drive home in my Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep was a '95 and was older than my kids, had been with me longer than my ex-wife, and was my faithful transport. Until, that is, it threw the belt on a lonely stretch of road during a snowstorm. I got out and sure enough, the fan mountings had come loose causing the belt to slip off. All I had was my Leatherman Wave (the grandchild of that Original Leatherman I carried in my ammo pouch). I ended up tightening the bolts and levering the fan belt back on for the 20+ mile drive back home where I took it in to my mechanic. He was amazed that my trusty little Leatherman brought me home safely and saved me the cost of a tow. I wasn't. I've always bragged about the different Leatherman I've carried over the years. The Original, the little Micra, and now the Wave. My buddies suggested I write in and thank you for such a fine product. It's come in handy more times than I can remember.
